Up in Arms DVD 1944 Danny Kaye Comedy Musical NR Color

Stars in Up in Arms: Danny Kaye, Dinah Shore, Dana Andrews

Hypochondriac Danny Weems gets drafted into the army and makes life miserable for his fellow GIs. He’s also lovesick when it comes to pretty Mary Morgan, unaware that she’s in love with his best friend Joe.

At work at the Manhattan Medical Building, hypochondriac elevator operator Danny Weems wreaks havoc by pestering the doctors for medicine and diagnosing all the patients with incurable diseases. Nurse Virginia Merrill tries to attract his attention, but he swoons over another nurse, Mary Morgan, not realizing that she only likes him platonically.

That night, the three go on a double date with Danny’s roommate, Joe Nelson, and during the evening, Virginia flirts with Danny, who fails to notice that Joe and Mary are falling in love. After the date, Danny learns that he has been drafted and, terrified of the health risks posed by Army life, begs Joe to plead his case at the draft board. When Joe does, however, he discovers that he, too, has been drafted, and that both must report to duty!

Note to Buyers

Mayda Mart movies consist of mostly American films made before 1964. These carefully researched films have been considered to be in the public domain in the USA for many years. Why is a film in the public domain? Briefly, films fall into the public domain because they were never properly registered with the Library of Congress in the first place or were not renewed as required by the prevailing copyright laws at the time. This movie has been researched and found to be in the public domain in the U.S. because the copyright has either expired and is no longer valid or the film was not copyrighted at all. Researched first with the United States Copyright Office Public Catalog as well as other public domain resources.
