The Blob 1958 Cult Horror Steve McQueen Science Fiction Color
Stars: Steve McQueen, Aneta Corsaut, Earl Rowe
The Blob, a mysterious creature from another planet resembling a giant blob of jelly, lands on earth. Steve Andrews and his girlfriend, Jane Martin are at a lovers’ lane when they see a meteorite crash. Steve decides to look for it but an elderly man living nearby finds it first. When the elderly man pokes the meteorite with a stick, it breaks open and a small jelly-like globule attaches itself to his hand. In pain and unable to scrape or shake it loose, the old man runs onto the road, where he is nearly struck by Steve’s car. Steve and Jane take him to Doctor Hallen who determines he must amputate the man’s arm because it is being consumed by the Blob!
The people of a nearby small town refuse to listen to the teenagers who witnessed the blob’s destructive power. In the meantime, the blob just keeps on getting bigger. It devours and dissolves citizens in the small communities of Phoenixville and Downingtown, PA. It keeps growing larger, redder, and more aggressive. Eventually it becomes larger than a building.
Tagline: Beware of the Blob! It creeps, and leaps, and glides and slides across the floor.
The Blob stars a 27-year-old Steve McQueen in his debut leading role as a teenager. This is the classic, 1958 original. The movie will come encased in a jewel case as shown in the image.
