Fred MacMurray Barbara Stanwyck 3 Disc DVD Set
Three great movies in one set featuring Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck. Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray gave indelible performances as murderous, illicit lovers in Billy Wilder’s 1944 noir masterpiece “Double Indemnity.” Four years earlier, the actors starred in Remember the Night and 15 years later, they paired up again for There’s Always Tomorrow. Now you can own all three classics in one package deal!
Remember the Night (1940)
Storyline: Just before Christmas, Lee Leander is caught shoplifting. It is her third offense. She is prosecuted by John Sargent. He postpones the trial because it is hard to get a conviction at Christmas time. But he feels sorry for her and arranges for her bail, and ends up taking her home to his mother for Christmas. Surrounded by a loving family (in stark contrast to Lee’s own family background) they fall in love. This creates a new problem: how do they handle the upcoming trial?

Phyllis proposes to kill her husband to receive the proceeds of an accident insurance policy and Walter devises a scheme to receive twice the amount based on a double indemnity clause. When Mr. Dietrichson is found dead on a train track, the police accept the determination of accidental death. However, the insurance analyst and Walter’s best friend Barton Keyes does not buy the story and suspects that Phyllis has murdered her husband with the help of another man.
