The Nevadan 1950 Randolph Scott Western
Stars: Randolph Scott, Dorothy Malone, Forrest Tucker
The Nevadan is an entertaining, dependable Randolph Scott western. Scott plays a mysterious loner, encountering a cast of interesting characters. Imagine Forrest Tucker as the bad guy with the alluring Dorothy Malone. The father is a seemingly respectable rancher, but he’s got some nasty thugs on the payroll, including Jock Mahoney. Add a stolen shipment of gold, and some well placed shootouts and you have a perfectly paced Western.
Complicating everything is Dorothy Malone, MacReady’s daughter. She’s a lovely gal totally clueless about her father. She takes a fancy to Scott and he to her which causes problems for everyone involved.
If you are a fan of Randolph Scott and western genre from the 1950’s, The Nevadan will not disappoint.Visual appeal is accomplished with fine cinematography by Charles Lawton Jr.
