Star in the Dust 1956 John Agar Western Drama
Starring: John Agar, Mamie Van Doren, Richard Boone
Star in the Dust Story Line. Sheriff Jorden of Gunlock is planning to hang Sam Hall, who shot three farmers found on cattle land at sundown. At the casino, betting is 8 to 3 that the Sheriff won’t make it. The cattlemen are set to rescue Sam and the farmers hope to lynch him. Meanwhile, Hall schemes for escape with his girl Nellie Mason. But Sheriff Jorden is most concerned with finding out who hired Hall. The Sheriff’s future brother-in-law happens to be a leading suspect.
Star in the Dust is an entertaining Western that includes action, thrills, fights, shot’em up and a peculiar love story. The story is plain and simple, a strong confrontation with twisted intrigue. A sheriff faces off enemies alone and is abandoned to his fate by gutless townspeople. Bursting with appealing and charming characters, plus decent film-making and interpretation.
Tagline: WITH HIS OWN HANDS HE PUT THE ROPE AROUND HIS NECK…and then defied the law to hang him! (original herald)
