The Steel Helmet DVD 1951 Gene Evans Action Drama War NR Black & White

Stars of The Steel Helmet: Gene Evans, Robert Hutton, Steve Brodie

During the Korean War, strong but worn and cantankerous Sergeant Zack is aided by a young, orphaned Korean boy. The group stumbles upon a Buddhist temple where they decide to hold up, believing it to be empty…

Sgt. Zack, Gene Evens, with his hands tied behind his back and a commie bullet through his steel helmet is rescued by a young Korean boy whom he nicknames “Short Round”. Zack had been captured by the Communist North Koreans and together with his fellow GI’s summarily shot in the head but his helmet luckily deflected the bullet where he played dead until his failed executioners left the scene. A loner who’s not interested in any human companionship Zack at first tries to go out on his own, but “Short Round” is so insistent the tough old battle-hardened GI gives in and lets “Short Round ” tag along with him.

This is a powerful war movie that you never get tired of watching not just because of the many great battle action scenes in it but the message that it brings out to it’s audience.

Note to Buyers

Mayda Mart movies consist of mostly American films made before 1964. These carefully researched films have been considered to be in the public domain in the USA for many years. Why is a film in the public domain? Briefly, films fall into the public domain because they were never properly registered with the Library of Congress in the first place or were not renewed as required by the prevailing copyright laws at the time. This movie has been researched and found to be in the public domain in the U.S. because the copyright has either expired and is no longer valid or the film was not copyrighted at all. Researched first with the United States Copyright Office Public Catalog as well as other public domain resources.
